This day in 1908: In his most ambitious political effort Democrat Henry Ford lost a US Senate race to Republican Truman H Newberry by about 7,500 votes out of the 430,000 votes cast.

Repairs on the Ford F250 have started. The frame is bent, so the whole truck was disassembled to repair the frame. The front section of the frame was removed and a new one is put back on.

They arrived at Parliament Hill, Ottawa Canda after travelling a distance of 9,364 miles (15,070 km) through Canada and the US having departed from Waterloo on 7th August.
