Great job once again by our off road crew. Thanks to our mutual aid partners from Alma fire for responding. Our training has certainly paid off over the past few weeks.

Great job again for our Off Road unit early this morning. Out for a rescue of a vehicle off the road and it’s occupants. This particular area seems to be a common place for us to respond to this year. Thanks to the crew for another job well done.

A great job done by our crew for another snowmobile accident rescue. Our medical first response crew and other firefighters did a terrific job. Thanks Petitcodiac Fire for backup support.

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and safe and happy New Year. Thanks to the folks who have supported us in our fire department lotto. Also the many from outside our community who support this. There is many more numbers available for the folks we continue to serve and keep safe in our community. These funds go towards extra equipment and also back into the community. Please consider supporting local and contact us for a number. Just $2 per week.

We wish to extend a happy retirement for two of our members. Captain Harry Dunham and Safety Officer Blaine Price. Both having 30 years of service.

A great job done again today by the ELGIN FIRE crew for responding to an individual who fell off the cliffs and into the Pollett River. This individual did make it to the other side to safety but it was challenging to get to. Another great example of mutual aid work between our fire crew, Riverview Fire department, safety officers on scene and Ambulance NB. Thanks to all involved for creating a great outcome

Looking for two 48 or 60 Christmas Wreaths for our Fire Station. Anyone out there making any?

This week we were reminded of the dangers of firefighting not only in the fire scene but also responding to the scene as well. Monday night Our Captain was dri...ving the rescue to a mutual aid call when he started experiencing chest pans. They quickly changed drivers and an ambulance that was staged at the fire scene quickly did an assessment and took him to the hospital. Today he is being treated at the cardiac unit and is expected to recover. Please keep our crew in your thoughts when you hear those sirens. A big thank you to the ambulance attendees who acted quickly. Also, this is a great time to ask younger and middle aged members of our community to consider joining our fire department to reduce the work load of our senior members. Just a reminder of our Firefighters lotto every Saturday Morning at 10 AM at the Elgin Country Kitchen. Just $2/week and funds go to fire prevention and fire gear. If you’d like to have a number, please ask Sheila Mullin or one of our firefighters.

It’s fire Prevention week. We wish we could be hosting our annual open house but unfortunately Covid stopped that. Please take time to check over our flyer and don’t hesitate to ask a firefighter if you have any questions.

The Elgin Fire Dept. is starting the 50/50 lotto back after the stoppage from Covid. Any funds that were in the draws before the Stoppage will be carried over. If you have a number please consider getting back to it as this is a Fundraiser to support our work in the community. If you don’t have a number and would like one, please contact Sheila Mullin or the Chief. Money can be deposited at the Elgin Country Kitchen store. Thanks
