So it was a very rough night last night and early this morning. Unfortunately we lost both boys. The poor boys were very premature and just weren’t strong enough to pull through. After already being revived the day before from stone cold. They were fighting a huge battle. The first to go was little Samson. He was the weakest of the 2 kittens. ... Samson weighed in 55 grams, just a tiny baby. Poor guy also had a cut on his leg that was patched up upon arrival. He was nursing on the nipple at first but was having a hard time and seemed to be declining so the decision to tube feed was made. Then in the evening at about 11:30pm Samson started to crash. Without going into to much detail, the poor little bean was just not coming back to us despite every resource and effort given. Then this morning between 5:50am-7:45am I woke up to check on little Gabriel. While on the phone regarding another baby needing assistance, I made the tough discovery that little Gab had passed away as well. Once again I went into revival mode and started CPR combined with concentrated oxygen to try and bring him back, but unfortunately he was truly gone. Gabriel only weighed in at 60 grams. I knew that chances of guys surviving with all they had been through in just a few hours of life was slim. But slim to me just means there’s a chance... I’ll take that. I’m just happy the boys knew nothing but love, warmth, fully bellies, soothing accessories, and did I mention love? So much love. Thank you everyone! The support has been incredible, & so encouraging. There’s always more babies in need of specialized help. Our goal is to help as many as possible and to increase those insanely low survival rates for these guys and so many more.
