A little deck footing maze for our Hamilton customer! Done to code you see the varying pier sizes to properly support the load and the importance of correct bracket placement to line up the beams! A strong foundation = a deck made to last #deckfootings #postholediggers #postholedigging #hamilton #deckbuilding #wecandigit

How to prepare for your dig: Marking out your area We are often asked by our customers, how can I properly prepare for my dig?. The main thing that we require is a clear and accurately laid out area with appropriate markings so that we can come right in and get digging! ... Whether you are building your fence or having a contractor complete the job, you will need to determine your panel lengths and layout. This will vary from job to job depending on the dimensions of your area, and if there are different angles to consider. For instance, while you may set most of your posts at an 8’ center, you may need to start your first post at a shorter distance to the next in order to accommodate your area. It is entirely up to you how you wish to space your posts out, as long as you stay within the 8’ suggested parameters, you are off to a great start! In our experience, we would recommend a string line be placed around the perimeter of your fence line that we will be digging along and marking each post hole with an X using marking paint as shown in the picture attached. This gives us a clear and concise layout to work with and gives you flexibility so you can go about your busy life while we look after setting your posts! And last but not least, thank you so much to Derek in Grimsby for being our example of an A+ layout to use for this post, great job Derek! Take care everyone, Scott
