In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been very touched to see so much generosity around us. We want to thank each one of you who has reached out to see how they could contribute to helping our young families in difficulty. So in honor of #GivingTuesday, every dollar received today will go towards supporting quarantined mothers and children: adapting the residence to make confinement more comfortable and providing additional support to carry them through these chall...enging times. Dear friends and partners, As we face this COVID-19 pandemic together, Elizabeth House remains committed to following the guidelines emitted by our governments and adjusting its practices as necessary to stop the progression of the virus. With this in mind, we have made the following decisions:... We are blessed to have all the supplies we need at this time and will therefore not be accepting any material donations until further notice. This also serves to protect our staff who receives and manipulates these items. For safety, we must delay admissions into our residential program until further notice. However, we will continue to process all requests for services. We appreciate all your support and good words as our staff continues to provide essential services to the vulnerable families of our community. Yesterday, our team met with a group of students from Laurier MacDonald High School to discuss the reality of young parents in difficulty and how Elizabeth House supports them. The class donated this beautiful bouquet of flowers for the mothers in our residence. Thank you for this little gesture that warms our hearts (and brightens up our dining room)!

To kick off Black History Month last week, Elizabeth House clients reflected on Martin Luther King Jr's famous "I have a dream..." speech. They identified 5 dreams they have for themselves, their family, our society or the world and invited staff to do the same! What a beautiful vision it is when we all put our dreams together!
