Doesn't this look delicious? You know it's going to be yummy with honey.
Six little wrens in a beeyard nest
Tip of the day: If you have a bee in your home place a drop of honey on your finger and they will crawl right on. Walk outside while they drink their fill they will fly off happily once they are full. They won't sting you they are happy you are feeding them and setting them free.
Anyone want to guess before I tell you? Looks like at least 7. They feel like velvet right now Going to give them another week and check again. They are in one of my duck nest boxes. Update: squirrels
Beekeeping 101: Ok everyone you all now know what a queen bee, drone bee and worker bee look like. (If you don't check out the previous two posts.) This is a nice easy warm up. Find the queen. She is surrounded by her loyal workers bees. They are on a mixed comb of brood (capped bee larvae) and open cells, where if you look closely you will see pollen.
