Today is Rowan' s Law Day, Rowan Stringer was a high school rugby athlete who died in 2013 as a result of second impact syndrome. The purpose of Rowan’s Law Day is to increase concussion education awareness, especially in schools. In light of the COVID-19 Pandemic, EIL is determined to do our part in flattening the curve. EIL has been classified as an Essential Service by the Ontario Ford Government. As such, we want to assure our friends and clients that we will continue to be here to help you navigate through these unprecedented times. We have made the decision to send our staff home and to have the office staffed on a minimal rotational basis. Many of our staff members will be working remotely fr...om home in an effort to continue to serve you while at the same time remaining physically distanced. Emails will be answered as will voice mail messages. Please allow at least a 24 hour return time on all voice mails given the remote office situation. Elkin Injury Law will be supporting public health recommendations to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We have implemented a no-client attendance plan for all clients commencing Monday, March 16 through to Friday, April 3, at which time we will re-assess the situation. Please note that the Superior Court of Justice has suspended all Court appearances effective immediately for an undetermined period of time, This is an unprecedented situation requiring complex and rapid business decisions. The Elkin Injury Law Team spent the evening at a local family business, Victorian Porch, participating not only in some Team Building but in support of this fun, eclectic craft and antique shop located on Hartzel Road in St. Catharines. On Friday December 20th, 2019 the Elkin Injury Law team volunteered at Community Care St. Catharines sorting food. We spent the afternoon sorting and packing 205 boxes of non-perishable food items. Community Care has advised that they distribute approximately 4000lbs of food a day to those in need. Our toy drive was also a success!! Thank you to everyone for all of your support! A great day was had by all.
