Building these beds with my class made me realize how fortunate I am. Many families just don’t have enough money to afford basic needs. I’m grateful we get a chance to help make a difference for these kids. Fort Saskatchewan High School Sleep in Heavenly Peace Canada

Congratulations to Elliott Erickson from Davidson Creek Elementary, the Grade 5 winner of the School Bus Safety Week poster contest! Each year, the Alberta Student Transportation Advisory Council (ASTAC) hosts the contest and receives over 1,500 entries from students across the province. The theme for 2020-21 was My Driver, My Hero. Elliott’s poster stood out, not only for her amazing artwork but also the messaging: Kind! Patient! Safe! On Time! Awesome! Brave! Elliott said this was inspired by her bus driver, bus #73, Wendy Giordano. Elliott received a Chapters gift card, a donation for her classroom, a plaque and her framed art. Congratulations Elliott!
It's so important to learn about these stories because the injustice needs to stop. Everyone needs to learn about Shannen, Jordan and Autumn so they can learn the truth about what’s happening in Canada. We learned about the teachings of courage and truth and we know that it takes courage to tell the truth. Fort Saskatchewan Elementary School

I really enjoyed writing a story for my Christmas card. It makes me happy to do nice things for other people, and I think they’ll appreciate it. I’m able to call my grandparents every day, but many seniors are alone during the holidays. - Veronica, Grade 3 student, École Campbelltown
