This is my husband Tony and he became obviously very emotional yesterday during this interview. My husband and I have endured arbitrary closure of our businesses together during this pandemic. Banding together with other service industries. Spas Salons and Barbershops in Toronto have been arbitrarily shut down for almost 9 months in the last calendar year. Still there is no word as to when they can re-open. There is no data that supports these arbitrary measures for salon and spa owners. Sanitization and disinfection is part of our work. Business have spent thousands of dollars in modifications so they can operate safely. Thousands of people flood Big Box store...s in one day, no contact tracing, no screening and they are concerned about small business owners that can control the amount of people they see a day. There should be no regional approach to Public Health depts. We are not in this together. . You either shut everyone down or no one. ALL businesses are essential. We pay licensing fees and business fees and taxes so we can operate legally. Our industry provides millions of dollars in supporting our local economy.
