Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 27.04.2021

Good morning! We've closed some of our trails east of Mitchell due to some bare spots - please stay off of closed trails to prevent crop damage. We also groomed B111 last night to knock off a few bumps and scratch up some loose snow.... Looks like we're going to be able to sneak one more weekend out of most of our trails - ice scratchers are highly recommended, but as you head north you should find some new snow from the squalls earlier this week. Please check the ITG at ofsc.evtrails.com or the Go Snowmobiling App before heading out, as trail availability will change frequently as conditions deteriorate. Obey the signs. Keep er between the stakes. Enjoy!

Good morning! Trails update, Feb 26. Swampers trails went yellow this week due to the warm weather. However, our groomers were out last night to scratch up some loose snow for your sliders and to do a little leveling. Get out this weekend, forecast doesn't look too promising over the next little while. Please pay close attention to the ITG at OFSC.evtrails.com or the Go Snowmobiling App for the rest of the season as trail availability will change daily in Southwestern Ontario. Obey the signs. Keep er between the stakes. Enjoy!

Trails Update, Feb 21. Awesome to see so many people out yesterday using the trails, was a really nice day for it! Our main trails were groomed overnight again to touch things up after yesterday's traffic. Check the ITG at OFSC.evtrails.com or the Go Snowmobiling App for the latest trail availability. Obey the signs. Keep er between the stakes. Enjoy!

Same message from us - hopefully we get some snow soon, but until the trails are open, please, STAY OFF! We have volunteers who are also landowners and avid snowmobilers, who are patiently waiting on snow while others snowmobile across their fields, which have wheat in them. There isn't anywhere near enough snow to prevent crop damage. Even our own volunteers are going to start revoking permission if this keeps up.

We know it's hard with such pretty snow, but driving on the snow damages the greens below. Please no snowmobiles on golf course property.

Swampers volunteers working away at more trail prep while waiting patiently for snow - another new bridge deck complete!

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 27.12.2020

This should go without saying - PLEASE STAY OFF OF CLOSED TRAILS! Travelling on closed trails is trespassing. It's also unsafe, and very disrespectful to our volunteers and landowners - there isn't enough snow on some of the wheat fields out there to snowmobile across them without causing damage. Our landowners granting us access each year is a privilege and not a right, and we can lose that privelege at any time. We want to get out there as bad as you do (or even more, since our volunteers have done the work to get stakes in) and we will have trails available as soon as it is feasible to do so. Until then, do us a favour and stay off! The only place for live, official trail status is the ITG and Go Snowmobiling App - if a trail is red, it's CLOSED! https://ofsc.evtrails.com/#

Merry Christmas! Looks like we made the nice list this year and got what we asked for, hopefully it keeps up. We'll check things out over the next few days and if there's enough snow out there to do something with, we'll be out. In the meantime, please stay off of the trails and keep an eye on the ITG or the Go Snowmobiling App for current trail status.

Looks like Santa just might be bringing us some snow... Hopefully this forecast is right!

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 27.11.2020

Unlike the shutdown in March, OFSC trails will be permitted to operate during the upcoming lockdown. Trail accessibility will be determined by a region's current status - so, for example, Swampers trails would be available to Huron-Perth residents only, as we are in an orange zone. All trails within Huron and Perth would be allowed to open for residents of Huron and Perth, but trails connecting to other regions around us would be closed until we drop to yellow or green - keeping us in Huron and Perth, and others out. More information is available on the OFSC website - look for the Flex Trails plan under news. We'll post more info and reminders here too once we get enough snow to open some trails. Hopefully Santa helps us out a bit!

Packed up for another year. Thanks to the landowners, volunteers and to you, the snowmobilers, for making it all possible. See you in the fall!

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 11.08.2020

Effective midnight, Saturday, March 21, all OFSC trails will be closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Full statement below:

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 01.08.2020

All Swampers trails are closed due to the warm weather. Please respect our landowners by staying off of closed trails!

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 26.07.2020

Swampers trails have all been groomed over the last 24hrs after a marathon grooming run by our operators. Get out, ride safe and enjoy!

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 08.07.2020

Good morning snowmobilers! Ellice Swampers trails are once again limited with the exception of 5-61 at the north end of the Swamp. Groomer will be working to flatten out trails as long as we can see what we're doing out there, please be patient but we will do the best we can to have some decent conditions for the weekend.

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 27.06.2020

Attention snowmobilers, Ellice Swampers trails are now closed due to the forecasted mild weather. Please stay off our trails to prevent damage to crops underneath the snow. All of our neighbouring clubs have or will be doing the same. Hope you had a chance to enjoy the trails over the last couple weeks.

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 10.06.2020

Same story from us, not only to save what we have but even more importantly, to protect any crops underneath the trail. Enjoy them tomorrow while you can and please check the ITG before you head out.

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 25.05.2020

We tidied up our main trails last night again, get out and enjoy them while you can! Forecast doesn't look too promising, trails are good but we can't take any warm weather.

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 09.05.2020

Happy Family Day sledders! Please note that some neighbouring clubs to the south have closed their trails - the snow thins out pretty quick south of us and the milder temps have wore through it. Swampers trails were groomed again overnight and are currently limited except for 5-61 in the north end of the Swamp. Please check https://ofsc.evtrails.com/# before heading out for up-to-date trail availability. Ride safe and enjoy!

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 19.04.2020

Most Swampers trails were groomed overnight, and aside from the north end of the Swamp, which is closed, all Swampers trails are currently limited. Check the ITG at https://ofsc.evtrails.com/# before heading out for up-to-date trail availability. Ride safe and enjoy!

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 13.04.2020

Cleanup in the Swamp is underway and it's looking good, should freeze up well tonight!

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 18.03.2020

Just an FYI for anyone traveling from outside of the area. Shoot us a message if you need some suggestions for parking!

Ellice Swampers Snowmobile Club 29.02.2020

We've been able to open most of our trail system to limited! Please note that the Swamp (Trail 5-61) is still closed. Also, there is no connection south of hwy 8 at this time, so the trail towards St Marys is closed. However, the gap in the trail map near Sebringville is an error - that trail is connected. The trail to the gas station in Mitchell has changed as well - it now comes into the yard of the garage beside the gas station - please cross that yard slowly and watch for traffic. Tim Hortons can still be accessed from the back of the gas station lot. We will be able to groom again once it gets cold enough to groom this sticky snow. Enjoy your ride! Please check the ITG at https://ofsc.evtrails.com/# for the latest trail availability before heading out!
