We unboxed our hardwood on Friday for our Monday install. The instructions asked for 72 hours out of the box to acclimate properly. Placed out of sunlight. Sometimes these instructions feel a little over the top but we always try to play it by the book and trust in the manufacturers process. We took the doors off the closet and bedroom and blocked the window sunlight for the weekend. We would remove them for installation regardless.
