One of our trail users possibly lost their glasses somewhere between Elora and Fergus. If you find them, let us know at [email protected]. The glasses have tortoiseshell frames with small gold dots down the arms. Thank you!
We've seen some comments from people wondering why trees are being removed from sections of the trailway. Sadly, the trees being removed are Ash trees that have been devastated by the invasive Emerald Ash Borer. You can read more about what the Grand River Conservation Authority is doing here: https://www.grandriver.ca//our-wate/Emerald-ash-borer.aspx
Have you been lured out into the cold to enjoy that crisp fresh air and bright sunshine? What's your favourite way to warm up after a cold-weather outing?
If those winter winds are making you think a cozy night in is a good idea, here are six nature documentaries to help you bring the outside in. https://blog.nature.org//6-more-nature-documentaries-to-/
Don't forget! The section of trail between 3rd Line and 6th Line will be closed to the public Feb 3-5 for hazard tree removal. The GRCA asks trail users to avoid the area between 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. daily while the work is underway and obey all posted signs. A good time to explore another section of the trail!
We've had some beautiful sunny days lately which means more people on the trail. Remember our trail supports several non-motorized sports and activities. Permissible activities include cycling, walking, dog walking (leashed pets only, no dog sledding), running, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, and horseback riding from Fergus to Cataract between May 31-March 15. If you have questions about activities permitted on the trailway, please contact Credit Valley Conservation or Grand River Conservation Authority.
We want your good boy to enjoy the trailway, too. But all good doggos need to be on a leash and under control at all times. Please respect the trail and other trail users and keep fido leashed. Want to let Ruffles run free? Visit the Fergus Dog Park!

We wish everyone a safe and Happy New Year! Along with many other things, 2020 showed us how important our outdoor spaces are for our physical and mental health and well-being. Let's walk into 2021 being gracious and respectful to each other and our wild spaces.
Fluctuating weather conditions can make parts of the trail icy and hazardous. What should you do when confronted with slick and slippery conditions? We'll let this fellow explain... https://youtu.be/LHaWGibGwyk
