Congrats on swimming up. Have a great summer!
Cub Scouts took a trip to MakerLabs to learn about art made in many different forms.
In November, 23rd Elsie Roy Scout Group came together for a special Remembrance Day ceremony.
Cub Scouts had terrific costumes for the Halloween meeting!
P-owling: pumpkin bowling.
Fun Active Scout Training (FAST) was held this weekend for our inspired Scouts.
It was an early morning, and worth it. A few of our Cub Scouts were on Breakfast Television this morning. This is the fourth segment we've been asked to do. We'd love to have them all featured, but that might be chaotic with 30 of them. http://www.btvancouver.ca/vid/scouts-tips-for-fall-camping/
After a great summer break - our team is excited to welcome all returning and new members of 23rd Elsie Roy! First meeting of the new session kicks off tonight - looking forward to sharing summer adventures.
Vancouver Police Department Police Service Dog Rebel demonstrated his skills with Cst Peebles. Rebel joined as a fellow scout for a picture with the 23rd Elsie Roy Scout Group. Thank you!
Thank you for your service PSD Rebel & Cst Peebles. Two years ago, Rebel demonstrated his skills to the #23rdElsieRoy Scout Group and youths learned about the police service dogs' role in the Vancouver Police Department.
It's almost the new Scouting year, and we're already nearly full in our Beaver and Cub Scout sections. Scouts (aged 11-14) and Venturers (aged 15-17) have room for more! If you're interested in having your youth join, or interested in becoming a Scouter- head over to www.myscouts.ca and search for our group there. If you're interested in joining as a Scouter, or if you have any other questions feel free to send us a message!
This is what three of our #Scouts are up to this entire week! Interested to know more? Check out the CJ17 Nova Scotia Facebook page! Yesterday was the opening ceremony - excited to see what adventures they go on.
Welcome to the Jungle Trials. The group was split into 3 teams of 5 - 2 Scouters and 3 Cubs. In their teams had to work together to complete challenges - ranging from finding a book in the library to creating your own shield inspired by the UBC logo. We met on Granville Island to build our lunches, break into their teams, go over rules, sun safety, and how it works. With predefined starting points, they set off on the aqua bus to complete the first challenge. Once completed, Cubs were given a dice to see which envelope they got next. They would then need to map out their journey - walk, SkyTrain, or bus.
Congratulations Cubs on achieving your badges for active learning, and doing your best! #doyourbest
What an evening! Tonight our Pack built these remarkable shelters out of newspaper and our Troop went on a bike ride from our meeting place to Stanley Park round trip.
It's Official! After a very close National Voting Survey conducted by the Calgary Zoo, the Grey Wolf is Canada's 2017 #Canada150 "Canada's Greatest Animal" of the Year! (That's a mouth full) It's also (Wolf) Cub Scouts' Centennial this year, just an unintentional bonus for Cub Scouts and Scouters. But it's still a 'dam' disappointment to Beaver Scouts and Beaver Scouters. ... Thanks 31st Scouts Calgary - Scouts Canada for the share!
Proud to support the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia. Scouting is for all. #IDAHOBIT2017 #ScoutingforAll
Our Cub Scouts were on Breakfast Television Vancouver this morning! Check them out! http://www.btvancouver.ca//getting-set-for-camping-season/
The 23rd Elsie Roy Scout Troop is excited to participate in Scout Canada’s Good Turn Week this year by helping the pets in need in Vancouver. They will be working the local BC SPCA ‘Charlie’s Foodbank’, a pet foodbank, to provide basic necessities for pet owners who cannot afford them. Whether these people come from low-income households, are homeless or are senior pet owners who are not able to provide their pets with these items, the Scouts are determined to help. http://one.scouts.ca//all-/foods-and-toys-for-the-animals/

This week our Scouts practised their navigation skills and learnt a little about the environment by means of this beautiful hike.
#Adventure: 23rd Elsie Roy Scout Group Cubs, Scouts, and Venturer leading the pack on NiteHike!
#DoYourBest: Great work today by the 23rd Elsie Roy Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Venturer for giving their best energy and spirit to #AppleDay! Supported by parents and Scouters, they raised donations from engaging with the community including an officer from Metro Vancouver Transit Police. Fantastic!
This week our Scouts practised lashings they plan to use to create flagpoles for the National Flag and for flags to represent their Patrols.
