**IMPORTANT** There has been some confusion regarding Elves Club this year and thought it would be a great idea to post on our community pages to explain a little further. Due to COVID-19 and a lot of our applicants being immune compromised we felt it wasn’t safe for our community (over 500 families) to be coming in to apply, not only for them but for us as well. We considered online applications however, a lot of our applicants also don’t have access to internet, phone, or ...even electricity which we felt was also unfair. We had to make a decision and it was decided by majority vote to donate individual gift cards to different organizations all up and down the coast that majority of our recipients use or are apart of one way or another and they will be handing out instead, spreading out the amount of people in one space. Elves club is NOT cancelled and we are still accepting donations. This is not intended to exclude anyone in the donations but really reach out to the ones who need it. If you are apart of an organization that you think could use the gift cards to help individuals and families including yourself to ensure you are not missed, please feel free to email us at [email protected] or text/call at 604-741-7451. Also, Crash the Coast is still a GO! First responders will be collecting donations Dec 5th. The telethon is still a go as well but not on the same day. The telethon will be airing Dec 12th hosted by Eastlink only with pre recorded acts while we will be counting money for updates during the show and accepting calls for donations! The Elves Club would like to extend a HUGE, heartfelt community THANK YOU to all of those who contributed this year to our local charity that has been a part of the Sunshine Coast for over 50 years! We were able to raise $53,135.22 over the holiday season with Elves gifting 2122 individuals via approximately 15 different local supports such as the Salvation Army, Secret Santa, Ministry of Families, Raincity Housing, Sunshine Coast Community Services, Sechelt Indian Band, an...d more!
