We are so proud to introduce our Volunteer of the Semester - Emil Dzhunushaliev. In early 2020, Emil was looking for a volunteer experience that would help his future career and joined Embark's Food Rescue team to learn about food waste and the connection to the global climate emergency. After two semesters with Embark Emil's main takeaways are not to give up and continue pushing, as the global climate emergency is one that will have serious consequences on all our lives. "F...ood waste is a big contributor to that issue (global climate emergency) and the Food Rescue project tries to eliminate that on the SFU campus, to the best of our ability. With more cooperation from other communities and more people starting to take the issue seriously, I believe the program will experience even more success." Read more about what volunteering at Embark can look like, according to Emil! https://www.embarksustainability.org/volunteer-of-the-seme/
