Can you relate to these food police thoughts? Often these get so repetitive that they form a continuous dialogue running in the background. Sometimes it can seem like these thoughts take over and we end up ignoring the cues from our body. Want to reconnect with your body? Pause your scroll.... Take an inhale to the count of four and release. Turn your attention to your feet and ask: what do you need right now? Repeat with any other body part you’d like to check in with. Comment below with the first thing that comes up. Right now my feet are cold so I think I need a little movement (*ahem solo dance party*) break!

And you don't have to measure it. Comment below with your favourite oatmeal toppings! I am a fan of chopped apples, cinnamon, brown sugar, and walnuts. #foodfreedom #foodpeace #intuitiveeating

I’ve had this teacup for YEARS and accidentally broke it a few months ago. Immediately upon breaking, I felt a sense disbelief that the cup was actually broken and then frustration at myself for dropping the cup. Then I collected the broken pieces and considered super-gluing the whole thing back together. For a while, I tried using the cup with a broken handle. And then I thought about throwing it away and started feeling sad about this thought. Finally, I used a kinsugi-repa...ir kit and pieced it back together. Kinsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold. And now I love this cup more than before it was broken. Not just because of how it looks, but because this broken cup showed me how even losing tiny things cause me grief. And that this grief, however small and seemingly insignificant, is still totally valid. And if you’re out there feeling broken or flawed, know this: these flaws make you beautiful. Save this post as a reminder that these flaws are the gold that make you, YOU .

But I never feel hungry or I’m always hungry. Does this sound familiar? Sometimes it can be difficult to figure out what hunger and fullness feels like. This may be because there are many factors that disrupt hunger and fullness. Can you relate to any of the ones on this post? Hunger and fullness cues are subtle and when we’re constantly distracted, we easily ignore these cues. It’s a bit like needing to urinate, yet not having the availability of a washroom nearby and ...then holding the urge until *finally* some hours later, you get the chance to go. For hours, you may even *forget* that you had this urge. Of course, this doesn’t mean that your bladder didn't need relief; you’ve just been distracted from the urge. If you have difficulty with hunger/fullness cues, the first step is to identify what might be distracting you from those cues. Save this post and check in with what your distractions may be over the next week!

Oh kitty. So cheeky. You might be onto something. I guess putting yourself first makes you easy to be around: you’re good at figuring out what you need and asking for it. And you know how to take care of yourself. I dig it. Would YOU like to start putting yourself first for the next 12 weeks? Start befriending your binge eating and move towards a peaceful relationship with food. Learn what your body truly needs when that urge to binge arises. Enrollment now open for my 12 week Befriend Binge Eating Program! See link in bio.

Oh kitty, you sure know how to be there for others (after you’ve been there for yourself first, of course). Happy Valentine’s Day! Hope it’s a day to celebrate love, not just for your loved ones, but also yourself. Shifting into a caring relationship with ourselves where we can turn inwards and listen to what our bodies need is a HUGE step in having a peaceful relationship with food + body.... That's why I've dedicated 3 weeks of the 12 week Befriend Binge Eating program to explore our relationship with our bodies. Perhaps this Valentine's Day, you can gift yourself 12 weeks of support towards a kinder relationship to yourself. Tomorrow is the last chance to register! If you want to start befriending your binge eating (and ultimately yourself) so that you can spend less time worrying about food and eating, I would love to have you. There are 3 spots left. See link in bio for details.
