It’s Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week ! Let’s Chat about Bullying. When you are told you are different, you act not normal ; you walk funny; why you speak silly - and the question is constant and the laughter at you is everyday ; the pushing to a corner is everyday ; the name calling is everyday; the belittling is everyday ; the do what your are told or else is everyday - IT HAS AN IMPACT ON THE PSYCHE. Period.... Self-doubt grows like a massive weed that is instilled On our lawns. The more you let it go the more it will grow- Because bullying is that way. Walking away only teaches the bully that you are not listening and gets them angry . They will start to manipulate you, threatened you in little ways that a naked eye can’t pick it up or see, and yes they can threatened in harming your family, if you tell someone. The end of a bullying era comes from understanding the psyche of a bully( their past) to where they are now; to end the bullying era is to change school policies - zero tolerance only removes the physical bully but places them into a new environment without resolution and then the bully cycle continues. The aftermath of bullying has some really sad statistics and they are increasing - but to the ones who endured the pain and are still here on this earth today - You Are Brave and I’m Glad You Are Still Here! When your kid dreams to be normal so that they are no longer to be picked on - tears up the heart of any soul. Let’s share our uniqueness and our weirdness everyday by choosing to be kind; choosing to take the time to listen and choosing to to say to yourself everyday I AM WORTHY OF THE SAME SPACE LIKE EVERYONE ELSE #GetLouderOnMentalHealth

We are seeing a surge around eating disorders; body dysphoria during this pandemic. We have often stated that there is a link to mental health, trauma and eating disorders. One feeds off the other, that can increase the deterioration of another. We are sharing a very insightful article around this.... #GetLouderOnMentalHealth

One of the most powerful things that makes us feel undone is not allowing ourselves to be ourselves around others. It’s okay if you don’t look, act, speak, walk, think like everyone else. Uniqueness is a gift and weirdness is our way to show to the world , this is who I am - a beautifully broken mosaic. Be okay with the flaws in your life. #GetLouderOnMentalHealth

It’s okay to not be okay right now. it’s okay to not have your stuff together. it’s okay to feel unglued.... The moment we realize the above we are then able to start peeling the layers of hurt. Keeping a smiley face for others was doing more harm than good. It’s okay to want more time for yourself; it’s okay to speak your truth; it’s okay . Healing of any kind takes time, but the more we own our flawed self and understand the trauma that controls us we eventually see our worth, the love we deserve and what we don’t deserve. Talking about our demons allows the process of release; and eventually healing begins. #GetLouderOnMentalHealth

We are remembering and thanking our Soldiers and Veterans for protecting and serving our Country, we must also understand that empathy and compassion goes beyond November 11th. Soldiers and Veterans don't just have one day to deal with remembering, they live with it everyday. The triggers, the night terrors, the no emotional affect, the anger, the sadness, the isolation, the disassociation, the trauma is instilled within them and their families every single day. Embracing E...mpowerment Counselling Services is unique, as we understand the evolution of missions, training, the mindset, the goodbyes, the farewells and the least thing a Military personnel wants to hear from others upon arriving home safely from a tour " Thank you for your service" We get it and We Are Here To Help! #WeRemember #LestWeForget #GetLouderOnMentalHealth

Even when we are all not in the same boat , we are all in the similar storm. Whoever created that quote knew that mental health has affected us all in some way during 2020 and covid , but what we can still all do, is still provide the empathy and compassion to ourselves and to others as we close the 2020 chapter in 21 days. #GetLouderOnMentalHealth

Self Compassion isn't just the understanding of self-love it is also the respect you give yourself to where you are right now. It’s okay to take your time to understand your path. There will be hills and valleys yet it is your understanding of your path that ultimately lights the compassion you will have for yourself to heal.... #GetLouderOnMentalHealth
