New full study in Canada scholarships for Azerbaijani students September 5, 2019 - Global Affairs Canada is pleased to introduce a new scholarships program for Canadian post-secondary institutions to welcome international students from diverse regions worldwide to schools and programs across Canada. The program aims to diversify and enrich Canada’s education engagement with a broad range of partners, to support Canadian institutions’ internationalization objectives, strengthe...n bilateral ties, and complement Canada’s international trade diversification efforts. Fully funded by the Government of Canada, these scholarships will be awarded to students from all academic disciplines, for post-secondary programs of up to two years leading to a diploma, post-secondary or post-graduate certificate, or Master’s degree at a college, technical or vocational institute, or university in Canada. Canadian post-secondary institutions will apply for scholarships on behalf of eligible students, who will need to meet the admissions criteria of their chosen institution. Applications will be accepted from January to March 2020. Amelia Earhart(born July 24, 1897; disappeared July 2, 1937) was one of America’s illustrious aviators and was the first female to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She was known for her unflinching and exploratory spirit that made her a powerful figure among American women. She was the 16th woman in the world to be issued a pilot’s license from the ‘Federation Aeronautique Internationale’ and after a period of laborious aviation training, she took her first flight in a yel...low Kinner Airster biplane, flying it an altitude of 14,000 feet. She became the first female pilot in the world to have achieved this feat and she also set the world record for the ‘fastest non-stop transcontinental flight’, which was completed in 19 hours and 5 minutes. Apart from her aviation career, she authored a number of best-selling books during her lifetime about her flying experiences and was instrumental in the formation of the organization for female pilots, ‘The Ninety-Nines’. She was also the proud recipient of a number of distinguished accolades and honors for her outstanding contributions to the world of aviation. A mysterious incident changed the face of aviation forever. When Amelia Earhart embarked on an around-the-world flight, she mysteriously disappeared near Howland Island and was never to be seen or heard of again. See more

26 June Azerbaijani National Army Day The national armed forces of Azerbaijan are almost 100 years old. The national army was first formed on 26 June 1918 upon proclamation of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, when the units of former Caucasian army were used to form Georgian, Armenian, Muslim (Azerbaijan) and Russian corps. The Azerbaijan corps was headed by the general-lieutenant Ali-Aga Shikhlinsky. Thus the national Army of Azerbaijan was first formed. The national army of Azerbaijan now consists of ground, air and navy forces, and also internal military forces, state border guard service and military household troops.
