I've always thought aubergine sounds WAY better than eggplant. When I moved to Canada, I had to learn new words and new spelling. I always have to remind myself that it's "neighbour," "centre," "colour," "travelling," and "cheque." Cheque instead of check (like paycheck) ALWAYS gets me. And don't get me started on converting measurements.

Ever wonder where OK came from? It was the result of an abbreviation fad that was sweeping Boston. Think lol, imo, rofl, and others. There are many different ways to write this: OK, o.k., ok, okay, and Okay. I tend to write "ok" in my texts, or "k" when I'm being lazy. The CMOS doesn't come right out and say which one to use, but OK is used in their forum. What's your preference?
