Gouache painting in my sketchbook to get my creative muse started. Do you have any "thing", the"thing" that works for you to get yourself started despite the circumstances? I have been very consistent about going for a walk early in the morning rain or shine for 3 months now and my thing that makes this everyday walk possible even if I'd rather be sleeping is @savvypainterpodcast and @talking_with_painters ( basically podcasts) on my headphones during the walk. For my everyda...y workout, my thing to get it going is @rebeccalouisefitness cheerful voice on YouTube. For painting, I haven't had one for a long time.. until today. Gouache painting like this excites me, keeps me going, and glues me to my desk and my creative time that I allocate for myself during our busy homeschooling hours. Gouache paints are forgiving too. You can reactivate it with water so there's no waste of paints really. You can paint thin or thick. You don't need a canvas but a piece of paper. Cleaning up is like a piece of cake just with water. Unlike acrylic paints gouache dries matte so the paints don't stick to each other when you paint in your sketchbook. Oh btw, this painting was inspired by the first nation artist Debra Sparrow's mural painting in Granville island and this exercise is part of a monthly challenge from #savvypaintergrowthstudio and the challenge is to draw or paint #mytown . .
