Looking to bring your lunch to the next level? You'll want to try this! This classic grilled cheese gets a gourmet twist when you add in fig jam, aged Cheddar and pear. You'll need:... 2 tbsp. unsalted butter, softened 4 slices sourdough or crusty bread 4 tsp. fig jam 1 firm ripe Bartlett or Anjou pear, cored and thinly sliced 1 cup shredded PC Aged One Year Canadian White Cheddar Cheese 2 slices prosciutto (optional) Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Spread butter over 1 side of each slice of bread, dividing evenly. Add 1 slice of bread, butter side down, to skillet; spread 1 tsp. jam over bread and arrange 4 to 5 slices of pear over top. Sprinkle with cup cheese and top with 1 slice prosciutto (if using). Dollop 1 tsp. jam over top, spreading evenly with spoon. Top with 1 slice of bread, butter side up. Cook, flipping once and pressing down on sandwich with spatula occasionally, until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown, about 6-10 minutes. Repeat with remaining bread, jam, pear, cheese and prosciutto (if using). Cut sandwiches in half and serve any remaining pear slices on side. #GrilledCheese #LunchTime #GourmetLunch #HealthyLunch #Dietitian #toronto #yyz #torontodietitian #loblaws #dietitiansofinstagram #torontofood #foodto #torontoeats #mealprep #mealideas #lunchideas #torontoblogger #foodstagram #the6ix #wfh #yummyinmytummy #nodiet #intuitiveeating #haes #intuitiveeatingdietitian #haesdietitian #torontonutritionist

Raise your hand if you love granola!! Sometimes I make my granola at home, or I pick up a bag of PC Blue Menu omega-3 granola. This granola has simple ingredients like whole grain wheat and oats, chia seeds, flax, and banana chips. It is high in fibre, iron and is a source of omega-3 fats. You can use it on top of yogurt, smoothie bowls, or in a trail mix!... #torontodietitian #loblawsdietitian #loblawson #haesdietitian #torontofoodie #foodbloggersofto #yogurtbowl #sportsdietitian #dietitiansofig #sportdietitian #intuitiveeatingdietitian #dietitiansofinstagram #torontofood #foodto #torontofitness #torontonutritionist #the6ix @ Toronto, Ontario

I really like this quote from Evelyn Tribole! Intuitive eating empowers us and allows us to make the best decisions when it comes to nurturing our bodies. Rules that are too restrictive will take the pleasure right out of eating. When you tune into your body and listen to what it needs, you'll find it becomes easier to make food choices. It makes me sad when I hear my clients say they avoid fruit because of sugar content Yes, fruit has sugar but also: Fiber: important for gut health, healthy bowel movement, satiety, blood sugar and cholesterol management Vitamins and minerals: needed for skin health, digestion and overall health and immunity... antioxidants: protecting our cells against free radicals, help reduce inflammation and play a role in heart and overall health Not to mention, fruit is delicious My fruit salad today included all the fruit in the fridge! I love making fruit salads to mix in my yogurt or oatmeal. How do you like to make your fruit salad? #dietitian #toronto #yyz #fruit #fruitsalad #loblaws #torontodietitian #torontonutritionist #employee #dietitiansofinstagram #healthyfood #nutritiontips #torontonutritioncoach #torontoeats #foodto #the6ix #intuitiveeating #yummyfood #healthyanddelicious #haes #torontolife #torontonutritionists #torontofit #torontofitness

How often do you find yourself dreading to go to the gym or doing a certain workout but forcing yourself to do so because I need to lose weight or I ate too much. Also, how often you find yourself quitting your exercise routine once the diet has failed? Movement is important for overall health. From keeping our heart and blood pressure in check, to helping with blood sugar regulation and elevating mood, finding the time to move is important. However, for many dieters, ...exercising becomes a tedious and not enjoyable task as it is often tied to food restrictions and used as a form of punishment or as a tool for how much they can eat. Instead of exercising for weight loss, do it for overall health and to feel better. Forget militant exercise and just get active to feel the difference. If crossfit and HIIT training is not your cup of tea, then leave it and focus on movements that make you feel good and energized. When you move in a way that is satisfying and fun, you are truly nourishing your body, mind and spirit; becoming more in-tune with your body. Try this: List the activities that you enjoy or would like to do: brisk walking, running, yoga, Zumba, pilates Reflect- how would the pursuit of these activities impact your life? Remember, rest is just as important as exercising. Finding the balance between movement and rest is important for a sustainable and nourishing self-care What are some of your favourite movement activities? #dietitian #toronto #yyz #torontocanada #torontodietitian #loblaws #intuitiveeating #intuitivecoach #employee #torontofood #torontofitness #torontolife #torontofit #haes #dietitiansofinstagram #the6ix #nodiet #torontoblogger #torontofood #foodto #torontonutritionist #torontoeats #move #exercisemotivation
