A public alert is being issued due to the high number of calls being received by Lakeland District Protective Services and the Ministry of Environment regardin...g bear sightings. There continues to be multiple reports of bear activity within populated areas throughout the municipality. The public is being warned to be on the look out for bears in their area and be diligent in their outdoor activities. The public is being asked to: - refrain from storing food scraps and garbage outside, or leaving accessible pet food outside including the use of bird feeders. - use the free bear proofs bins located throughout Lakeland or to take your garbage to the Emma Lake transfer station. - report to Lakeland District Protective Services at 306-982-4466 cases of persons being negligent in the use of their garbage containers that results in wildlife spreading garbage outside of the container. The North Saskatchewan River Basin Council presents Tips for Healthy Lakes & Recreation ... There's something about the shorelines of lakes that draws us, inspires us, and fascinates us. We all love to recreate, reconnect with nature, and spend time with our family and friends around water. We use our lakes for source water, weekend getaways, and certainly recreation. From hiking, and wildlife viewing to boating and fishing. We need to remember that what we do at the lake can impact lake water quality, shorelines, and wildlife. Let's work together to keep our lakes healthy! https://youtu.be/DRoNkzTCfvg

Remembrance Day supper at Messiah Lutheran, Prince Albert, today from 4 - 6pm. All are welcome!
Bring your scary, funny, fun costumes and just have fun.
Thank you to everyone who attended this year's Lion's Turkey Shoot. It was a great success with nearly 50% more participants this year than in 2018. We notice...d that everyone was having a great time. We also thank you for your patience. 129 turkeys were won, giving us a good problem to deal with ... a shortage of turkeys! We now have enough turkeys for distribution to all winners. Craig Fisher is in the process of calling you and distributing them. Alternatively, please PM him from the Lakeland Lions FB page. Lakeland Lions would also like to extend a big thank you to the Lakeland Curling Club for use of the excellent Anderson Community Center. A big thank you also goes out to Carmen Dagnais and Terry Mourot for providing meals to all the hungry participants. Kudos to Brandy Smart at Vacationland News for supplying printing. Again, thank you everyone for your participation. We hope you will attend in 2020. Watch for that announcement. PS: Are you looking for fun and fellowship in community service. Our Lions members are having fun ... come join us.
Get your costumes ready...
