Customers having a furnace/boiler installed and being paid in full between June 30, 2016 and October 31, 2016 can apply for an $800 rebate (once per account holder), pre-qualification code is required, and acquired at fortisbc.com/furnace or by calling 1-800-663-8400 (one code per account holder). Codes are only available from June 30, 2016 to August 15, 2016, or while quantities last. Eligibility is as follows: ... Old furnace/boiler must be a standard or mid-efficiency model in working order and at least 10 years old. Replacement models must be ENERGY STAR (Version 4.0) certified, be listed on the ENERGY STAR website and be ENERGY STAR natural gas furnaces, 95 per cent AFUE or higher, ENERGY STAR natural gas boilers or combination boiler systems, 94 per cent AFUE or higher. Equivalent non ENERGY STAR furnaces may be eligible for a rebate if they meet the following: Rated 95 per cent AFUE or higher, Rated less than or equal per cent furnace fan efficiency (e) or are listed on the Natural Resources Canada Website. Rebates are not available under the following circumstances: Furnaces and boilers less than 10 years old Emergency replacements: Furnaces/boilers requiring repairs in excess of $1,000 (pre-tax dollars including parts and labour) Any heat pump system, whether it is used for heating or air conditioning, or systems where the natural gas furnace/boiler is used as a secondary or back up heating system.
