SHOP ANNOUNCEMENT Shifting to curbside pickup only until March 24th. My kiddos were exposed to a confirmed case at daycare and while public health says others in the household can go to work and don’t have to isolate, I’m thankful that I am in a position to make that call myself. Solidarity with everyone making hard choices everyday I’ll be doing some Instagram story sales in the meantime, I’ve got so many great new local vendors in the shop! March Meet The Maker day 2 - Style. (Yes technically it’s day 3, but who knows what day it is anymore) My style is predominantly vintage, thrifty, and floral, in no particular order. My businesses, brands, and store reflect all these things. My birthday is the first day of spring, so it’s no wonder I surround myself in florals. Heya just wanted to say hi and let y’all know that I’ll be opening up the shop THIS Saturday (October 24th) for a little sneak peak of the studio from 10-3. I’ll have a small selection of sustainable fabrics, masks, and children’s goods for sale as well as some gorgeous leafy friends from @sticksandstonesfloraldesign. (Stay tuned for plus & straight size vintage from @blousenskirt_ , AND MORE from other local makers like @josiahandco and @munchingmonsterchewlery ) For those... that don’t know me personally, I’m @ariane_clark, owner, operator, one-human show behind @empiremakespace. I’m also the maker behind @littlelovebirdsca, a sustainable children’s brand that started with a love of upcycled fabrics. Something you may not know about me is that last year, shortly after her 5th birthday, my daughter Ellery was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, and we lost her 6 months later The funny thing about a loss like that is that it makes you doubt reality, I often feel like I’m dreaming, honestly how could this life be real? But the thing about dreams is that you can do whatever you want in them, why the heck not So my why not is opening up a collaborative space for makers of all kinds to create, promote, sell, and come together. With dreams, there’s always a chance that you’ll fall, but damn, what if you flew? See more
