It is amazing how much difference removing a portion of one wall makes. This kitchen went from dark and closed off to bright and open by removing a 6' section of wall. We may not have been able to increase their kitchen size but by removing that wall and reconfiguring the space we were able to give the homeowners a pantry with roll out shelves, an island with seating for 2 and a permanent home for their dishwasher. Here are some progress pictures of one of our current renovations. Demo has been completed. The small out of date kitchen has been removed, the majority of the wall that separated the kitchen and dining room is now gone and an engineered beam is in it's place. We removed the old tub and replaced it with a nice new fibreglass tub and surround. There may be snow on the ground now but the sun was shining when we finished this deck this summer. Homeowners needed an accessible deck from their back entry and we delivered. The deck was built up from their existing concrete deck and finished with a gorgeous glass railing to enjoy the view of the coulees. Check this out! To portray the Scandinavian/Mid Century Modern design style of the homeowner a slatted wall was installed along their staircase. It was an amazing concept that was brought to life by the team at The Kitchen Centre @thekitchencentreyql by using the same material as the cabinetry to create a cohesive look in the space. The time has finally come for us to showcase the AMAZING transformation at Gyro Park. The process was long but it was worth every minute. When it was all said and done the only portion of the interior of the home that was in it's existing location was the staircase and living room. Here are some pictures from a recently renovated house on the west side. We added some variation to the front of the home with a Dark Gray entrance door and garage door. On the inside the flooring, trim and paint was updated. The major changes of the renovation included making a walkthrough mudroom, smaller main floor bathroom and completing the basement bedroom and bathroom. At Empire Home Renovations it's not about ideas, it's about making them happen. And that's exactly what we are doing at our northside renovation that is well underway. The idea is to revamp the interior of the home with ultra modern cabinetry, a to die for ensuite with freestanding tub and full glass shower and a custom built entertainment wall fit with all the technical infrastructure so no wires will be seen. Another renovation is well underway. We are taking this quaint little home that looks onto gyro park and turning it into a cozy cottage style dwelling that will feature a large verandah, addition, large upper floor master suite, gas fireplace and all new finishes. One of our Southside renovations is complete just in time to ring in the holiday season. The task was to create an open concept design on the main floor and add a large deck onto the back. In order to achieve the design the existing rear door had to be raised and the main floor had to be made all one level. This in turn made the need to build a new interior staircase and remove a load bearing wall. The load bearing wall was replaced with a large drywalled beam which nicely separates the space. Sleek white finishes are contrasted with the warm tones of the countertop and the floor and are brought out in the gorgeous stairway railing. DEMO has begun at another south side renovation. Once completed the space will have a new open concept design.
