Meet Henry, the newest addition to the Empire family and the reason @sarahbarah55 has been missing for months. He’s a bit of a show stealer, which is kinda my thing, so we’re still trying to learn to respect each other’s boundaries. I mean, I guess he’s alright. If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that family comes first, even if it means you have to let one of your favorite people go to start her own. Empire has always been about people, from our fabulous team to our ki...nd and generous customers. This has been a tumultuous year that we are happy to have survived. Bright spots like this jerk baby, made it bearable. This long winded post was initially supposed to be about holiday hours so if you’ve read this far, we will be taking a much deserved break to be with our families. EMPIRE AT HOME. After a wonderfully busy holiday season, we were able to enjoy a few days off at home. Thank you to all who shared their Empire holiday meals with us. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve been up to in our kitchen using ingredients from our local mini market. Up first is our grass fed Alberta Beef Ribsteak drizzled in Mountainview Canola oil and fresh black truffles from our friend Eric @meta4foods Next up is a quick pasta pomodoro made with our family recipe Esp...osito sausage and topped with our spicy Calabrian peppers. Last but not least is our Christmas Day tradition - brouillade aux truffes, soft scrambled eggs over @alfornoyyc sourdough covered in truffles with a side of our house smoked bacon. We are beyond grateful for our access to great food and the opportunity we have to share it with you. From our kitchen to yours, happy eating this holiday season and to more great meals in 2021.
