Empower Equine 16.11.2020

This lovely mare Tessa and her owner Janelle Dudzic both braved the cold with me yesterday. It was the coldest session I have done yet, -37 not including the windchill. It isn’t often that we get to work in a heated barn or arena, so we work with what we have! Don’t be afraid to call and ask about booking in the winter, our horses sometimes need us the most in the cold.

Hope everyone is staying warm in this -40 polar vortex we’re having!! I am sure most of you have seen a horse shivering at some point in this cold like the one in the video. Shivering can cause muscles to become tense and stiff, sometimes leading to discomfort or pain. Extreme cold can bring problems such as stiffness, muscle tension, sometimes injury from slipping on the ice. Not only that, but being in the cold is STRESSFUL.... I mean I get to go into a warm house at... night and I feel it. I have so much respect for our equine friends out there, they are toughing it out like champs. Book an Equi-Bow session to help our horses regain balance both mentally and physically... AND there’s still time to take advantage of my January promo (40% off). Stay warm everyone

This picture is worth a thousand words. This guy is a seasoned rope horse, so just like any athlete muscles or areas of the body can become tense. In the first hind end photo the tension through his adductor muscles were causing his hind legs to be pulled medially. After 2 Equi-Bow sessions there was a noticeable change in his posture, he was able to stand with his legs farther apart. This is a good example of how releasing tension through Equi-Bow can support a horse in becoming more balanced. *you will not be able to see the adductor muscles in the picture because they are located in the inside of the hind leg. See second picture for reference
