I know some people believe as a counsellor and coach that you are not supposed to get emotional with a client, but I have never been very successful at pretending that I am aloof. Stephanie sat curled up in a ball on the chair that she was in as if she was protecting herself from a cold winter’s day. Her head was buried in her hands and her shoulders shook as wave after wave of emotion gripped her, threatening to break her apart.
