After more than 18 months of planning, shooting, re-scheduling due to Covid-19, editing and more editing our 3rd TV series for Bell TV1 is complete. The "Live from the Upstairs Basement" sessions at Kops Records showcase the past, present and future of music in Oshawa. In each episode host Will McGuirk chats with the artist about being fans of vinyl and key cool corners in the city. We made 6 episodes that are roughly 16 minutes each and they can be found on the Bell TV1 network. We worked with Lindsay Schoolcraft, Cuff the Duke, Rooks McCoy aka Sonny Hendrixx, Wooly, Reign Ghost and Native Other and they're all brilliant. We had a successful stream of the media launch for @catchthedriff using our new Cam Link 4k. We pulled out all the stops - we brought 3 wireless mics for the presenters that were run through a mixer and then out to speakers and into my GH5 which was acting as our streaming camera so all the pro mics were included in our output. Thanks @phillarosa_ and @laurieturnerca for being the background tech making the streaming happen and @ladyravenflies for being a great host :) @dcbroadcasting was there with equipment and guidance too. Welcome to my new basement office/classroom! Working and teaching with a 2 year old at home has its challenges so I carved some space out for a semi permanent teaching desk. I've been enjoying online teaching more than I thought I would. Having immediate access to my arsenal of equipment to share benefits the students. I can also "digitally zoom in" on my DSLR webcam so I can show tiny film gizmos more effectively than in a classroom. And students are way more likely to pay attention while I share small tricks in Premiere Pro compared to a classroom. It's going to be very cold during the winter though. #onlineteaching #teaching #durhamcollege
