Good Afternoon, We at EMSA North want to make sure our member's are up to date and receive the communication from our governing bodies. EMSA Main sent out their November 27th update, in case you missed it, here is the link to that information below: https://emsamain.com//november-27-2020-soccer-activities-/... As per AHS, EMSA cannot have any league games (and practices) until earliest December 16th. The Government of Alberta will then re-evaluate the situation. EMSA will not be cancelling the rest of the season outright. This is only a postponement. There is still the goal to have as many games played for the indoor season as possible when we are cleared to do so. This would extend the indoor season into March/April. I will keep everyone updated via email and the EMSA North website with information pertaining to the EMSA League when it becomes available. Thank you, EMSA North
COVID 19 Update: November 25, 2020 Edmonton Minor Soccer Association will be sending out more information regarding the Government's new restrictions in their Friday Newsletter. However EMSA North did want to touch base with our families and advise what we know so far regarding the situation. The Government of Alberta declared a health state of emergency effective Friday, November 27th, to help slow the spread of Covid-19 and protect our health system. The emergency will rema...in in effect for 3 weeks and then be re-evaluated. Soccer and soccer activities are therefore suspended at this time. However, applications by groups and or organizations, for exemptions will be considered. Currently EMSA, EDSA and Edmonton Soccer Facilities are applying for this exemption. Hopefully Alberta Soccer Association will join us as well! During our open season the Edmonton Soccer Facilities were inspected multiple times and passed each inspection, there are no known outbreaks linked to Edmonton Minor Soccer Association and for those reasons our organization is hopeful to be granted the exemption. However there is the possibility that they may deny the application, in which case we will continue to comply with government orders and soccer will resume once the Government of Alberta advises us we are safe to do so; hopefully in 3 weeks! The Edmonton Soccer Facilities has already committed to accommodate the delay to our season end date that these pauses will cause. This means that our season will continue and our players will still get their games and practices in once we have been given the ok to proceed. Stay healthy, and be safe so that we can get back onto the pitch as soon as possible! Thank you, EMSA North Executive Board

COVID - 19 Update: Temporary pause on team sports Alberta Government announced today a temporary pause on team sports for the period November 13 to 27. https://www.alberta.ca/enhanced-public-health-measures.aspx Effective tomorrow, November 13 all scheduled EMSA games and all organized practices will be cancelled.... EMSA is expecting that this measure will effectively extend the original 2020-2021 Indoor Season by the same two weeks. EMSA will work closely with Edmonton Soccer Facilities and Edmonton Soccer Dome to reschedule all the games and provide time for practice reschedule. Depending on further public health restrictions and venue availability these games will be rescheduled throughout the reminder of this season. The league directors for both Community and Club competition will keep Zone Administrators and Team Officials informed of all the changes. Thank you for your patience.
