If you’re a parent or guardian of one of our players, you may wonder to best support them at home. Here are some of our tips to help your young players: Ask questions after practices or games to show that you are involved while not pressuring your athlete. Reward hard work and effort in ways that are small, simple and practical. ... Teach and encourage them self-management for their games and practices, like packing their own bag and cleaning their sportswear. Be at as many games as you can, but always remember to remain calm, relaxed and dignified at your athlete’s games.

Looking for an at-home soccer workout? Start with a quick five-minute warmup and let’s get going! Kick it off with some ball work! Inside and outside toe touches: touch the backside of the ball and keep it moving. Try to keep this going for a minute per foot. Repeat x 3. Build some strength in your legs! 30 seconds of jump squats, and 30 seconds of single foot hops per side. Repeat x 3. ... Time for some speed! Sprint in place for 30 seconds, one big straight jump up, and then 5 push ups. Repeat x 5. Time to cool down, big breaths, and stretch it out! Looking to make it more difficult? Increase the length of time or repetitions to help build up endurance.

Perfect your game with a trapping the ball drill! Throw the ball up in the air and use different parts of your feet to trap the ball as close to your feet as possible. Try trapping the ball with other parts of your body too! Doing this drill will help you gain control of the ball immediately, just like the professional players.
