Encompass Construction

Hi, it's been awhile since I have posted anything about any projects we have been working on but here goes. We recently completed a renovation project where we were asked to rid the customers home of a mouse infestation in his basement suite. Our approach was to demolish and discard the existing ceiling tiles, insulation and walls that were home to the mice and completely clean the affected area. We also sealed the holes and entry points using grid wire and re-insulated usi...ng both spray foam and sound proofing insulation. We repaired all the drywall, taped all the joints, coated all the walls to provide a smooth surface for re painting, installed new t-bar grid and tiles, built a custom door for the Linen closet, installed new closet doors in the bedroom and built a enclosure for the electrical panel area. We enclosed ducting in the laundry area with a new bulkhead and repaired/replace some of the pine paneling in the room as well. We had new vinyl plank flooring installed and completed the project by installing new casing and baseboards throughout the suite. I have included a few photos of the project. Here are some photos of a flooring project done by us recently. The originals rugs and baseboards were removed. We installed laminate flooring in 3 rooms and re-installed the baseboards. The first and second picture shows the care we took in matching the new laminate to the existing laminate in the hallway to ensure a pleasing look. The third picture show the master bedroom floor completed. Some more fine work from Encompass Construction on a deck rebuild. The original scope of work was to remove and replace some deck boards that had succumbed to d...ry rot and water saturation. On closer inspection of the structure and deck itself we determined that the deck was unsafe and need to be completely replaced as the original deck structure was fabricated using standard untreated lumber and was extremely deteriorated. The old deck and frame was removed and replaced using pressure treated lumber. The new deck and handrails was constructed using cedar. The deck boards were stained prior to installation and the handrails will be finished by owner once they determine it he type of finish wish to use. Attached are some photos of the construction.

Here is a recently completed veranda rebuild. The original veranda was built using untreated wood which allowed the moisture and carpenter ants to eventually undermine the integrity of the veranda. the columns supporting the deck had rotted off and the roof of the veranda had sagged approximately 3". We removed the the old deck and frame, jacked up the roof to its original position and reattached it. We replaced the rotten columns, frame and stairs using pressure treated wood. The deck was rebuilt using Fiberon composite boards, the facisca was trimmed in white to highlight the deck from the house and the roof columns were covered in synthetic slate colored stone.
