A few weeks ago, our ROAM Team was finally able to realize the dream of obtaining our own ‘Roam-Mobile’ (as we call it)! Our team has worked tirelessly for the ...past four and a half years to finally buy this mobile-unit which will be absolutely instrumental on so many of our searches; (especially the longer cases such as Olive, Isla, Roscoe, Valentina, Rusty, Marley (just to name a few!) This van was paid for entirely through some generous grants, four and a half years of grueling bottle sorting, and some very specific donations that were requested to specifically go to ‘operating costs’ (as opposed to our ‘ROAMER Fund’, which is where ALL cash donations to ROAM go.) Those funds are used exclusively for vet care costs for animals (posted on our page), who may need urgent vet care as a result of injuries or health concerns occurring during their time being lost. We, as a team, are so proud of our efforts. With each bottle sorted in numbingly cold and wet conditions....to the ones sorted in the blistering heat, wasp sting after wasp sting; we did it! The van is a large cargo van that is now equipped with shelving units to hold so many of our crucial supplies. It can carry all of our signboards, our postering supplies, a large dog sling, 100 feet of rope, our camp stove, propane, flashlights, rain gear, marine batteries, a sleeping cot, and so many more, much-needed supplies. For the ‘long haul cases’, it is capable of holding our 'Daddio trap', as well as our newest giant-breed-capable, ‘Laser-tripped trap’. This van will not only save the incredible wear and tear on our own vehicles (especially with large, heavy signboards constantly going in and out), it will also act as a home-base where everything is at our fingertips. We would like to thank: The Glanford Bottle Depot for their years of support and Sluggett Farms who have provided us with such a magnificent venue/site for our bottle drop off. It is invaluable! We’d also like to thank Ken at @Carsandtrucks.com for helping to secure the only 4-wheel drive version of this type of van. It was not an easy feat to get an all-wheel drive one, as this is the only cargo van that has that option! With some of the terrain we often find ourselves in, that was a must! We would also like to thank Jordan Mah; son of ROAM Admins Terry and Barb, for his most beautiful design of our ROAM wrap for the van. Jordan is a Graphic Designer and has so generously donated all of his time and expertise in all of our ROAM Branding, and was entirely responsible for the graphics on our van. We think it’s simply stunning and couldn't be more thrilled! A huge ‘shout out’ to @Encompassvi.com and @Renoson.com for the beautiful job they did on the wrap. The quality in their craftsmanship is so evident and we’re very appreciative! The purchase of this van absolutely would not have been possible without your ongoing support. We are forever grateful and so appreciative. In as much as Covid 19 has been absolutely dreadful, it did bring more bottle donations to our drop-off. This in turn enabled us to help many other charities over the summer with separate $500 donations to five Charities to help their causes; (including one to help Chubby, the dog who was recently injured requiring vet care).
