New in the shop: Vintage sign. I’m picturing the scene that this sign paints & I can’t help thinking about our not so distant days of the past. Can you imagine sitting THAT CLOSE together (3per seat) on public transportation? I’ve always appreciated personal space...and disliked feeling crowded (even by those I love) but seriously...sitting next to sneezing/coughing strangers NOT wearing masks? It’s ONE YEAR into this craziness called Covid & somehow (in many ways) I think we have been changed forever. Agree?

I’ve heard some suggested protocols for Halloween (modifying the exchange of goodies) but it kinda leaves me wondering??? Thoughts?!

HOW is it that Thanksgiving is already TWO WEEKS away??? We have turkeys in the shop that do not require cooking, dressing or stuffing. They simply want to hang out at home with your flock of 10 or less - at your table- providing light (tea lights) gravy & rolls... Don’t be a turkey. Keep it simple. Turkey time!!

FLASHBACK to a time when grocery shopping was a little less insane. No arrows on the floor. No lineups to get in. No swearing that you forgot something in aisle 5 (just me??) and then you debate with yourself whether returning to get that said item down all-the-one-way-aisles to retrieve it is even worth it or if you should simply go home without. I used to ENJOY grocery shopping (weird maybe- but it’s true-)even in my 20’s I felt like it was an action of taking care of ...myself- which then became taking care of my family & collecting favourite snacks or items to prepare a favourite meal. It now feels like survival. Not to be a downer on a beautiful Sunday and trust me- I feel blessed that OUR doors are still OPEN- but MAN this sign is definitely reminiscent of a simpler time. But was it?! {big sigh} crazy times folks! Be well. Be kind. Don’t rush the person in front you down the grocery aisle- they just might be looking for a special ingredient for a special meal.
