From Kyoshi Steve Hiscoe. It is difficult to put into words the emotions I feel with the events that have transpired this week. As you know O'Sensei Georges Sylvain passed away this month. That was a huge blow to the Canadian martial arts community. When O'Sensei passed away, I was contacted by his daughter Lynn Sylvain and asked if I would have the honour of looking after the Professor's uniform. Obviously without hesitation I said yes. This is a piece of Canadian marti...al arts history. Today, December 31, 2020 Lynn Sylvain fulfilled her father's wish by signing and dating a 10th degree certificate for my dad, Ed Hiscoe and a 9th degree certificate for myself in Can-Ryu Jiu-Jitsu. To say I am overwhelmed would be an understatement. The magnitude of the circumstances and the responsibility in keeping O'Sensei's legacy alive is not lost on me. I will do my best.

This is a sad moment. Feirce has been a guiding light for me and I’m sure many others, in these uncertain times it is no comfort to see the school I always looked to as an example of excellence close its doors. I know Ari and Lindsay have so many other opportunities to pursue and will be amazing, it is scary to see this happen to a school you idolize.
