Did you know? Prior to COVID-19, Alberta Health Services (AHS) used about 33,000 masks per day. They now use an average of 600,000 masks a day. We are proud to support Calgary-based company, Orpyx Medical Technologies Inc., to provide locally made medical masks to AHS through our Clean Room Technology. Orpyx will supply more than 40 million masks over two years, which will be distributed to health-care workers, patients, visitors and families at AHS and affiliate health-care sites across the province. Did you know? The Engineered Air Central Controller (CenCon) is the primary operational component for the majority of custom manufactured Engineered Air HVAC equipment. Our CenCon recently achieved BTL Certification under the BACnet Smart Actuator and BACnet Gateway device profiles. The BTL Certification is a mark of distinction and has come to represent a high level of quality and conformance based on rigorous independent testing. The BTL Certification Program provides suppliers with a way to highlight products that have successfully completed this testing, while giving users assurance that these products have been independently tested and passed industry standard BACnet International testing. #EngA #EngAInnovates

Today we look back at this custom install for Wilfrid Laurier University. These units have 90% efficient heat exchangers, low sound packages, high-efficient packaged cooling, and heating coils for future connection. The old units were safely taken off and the new ones were fitted perfectly into the existing curbs, all in less than a day! Great work, team! #EngA #EngAInnovates #WLU

Check out this innovation at work! Our beloved Engineered Air 6 axis arc welding robot offers many benefits for our production including enhanced weld consistency, time savings, cost-efficiency and reduced strain on our team members. The robot welder features an active cooling system, a laser detection system and a movement repeatability tolerance of 0.0800mm. Let’s hear it: If you could automate one of your work tasks with a robot what would it be? #EngA #EngAInnovates

Our recent team site visit took us to see the BC Transit Centre in Abbotsford, BC This hands-on experience allowed our sales team to see our units in action and in a variety of applications, which is always a treat. On a large site like this, it is always interesting to watch all of the different checks initiated before firing up the units and the importance of this step. Gasfitters, controllers, balancers, plumbers, and electricians all work collaboratively together to ensure our units run efficiently and safely. It is truly a team effort! Thanks to Tyler Zander for capturing these great photos. #EngA #EngASpotlight

Indoors or outdoors, winter conditions can put workers at risk. It’s important to conduct your hazard assessment to help identify any existing and potential seasonal hazards, which should be addressed immediately. Check that heating, ventilation and monitoring systems are ready for winter by inspecting heating systems for proper function and making sure all work areas have appropriate ventilation. Test carbon monoxide detectors or monitoring equipment, and exhaust systems. If any of your HVAC equipment is in need of maintenance or repair, reach out to a certified contractor right away. Stay safe this winter season! #EngA #EngASafety

This custom unit was recently built and delivered for a Filtration Plant in Montreal. The unit is designed to recover energy from the chlorine rich exhausted air within the filtration plant. Our customer required the equipment to have a small footprint and this challenge was accomplished through excellent collaboration between project engineers, contractors, and Engineered Air. Another successful project delivered on-time and efficiently! #EngA #EngAInnovates

Out with the old and in with the new! Another look at a Make-Up Air Unit replacement at a residential high-rise in southern Ontario, in collaboration with The Complete Group of Companies. This project challenged our team in several ways, with no structural drawings available and a requirement to use the footprint of the existing unit that is over 20 years old. The new custom engineered unit features mechanical cooling, variable speed air flow and indirect fired, modulating heating for reduced energy consumption. These photos show removal of the old unit and installation of the brand new Engineered Air unit. #EngA #EngAinnovates
