Today in the United States is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. MLK was the head spokesperson and activist in the Civil Rights Movement and had a great impact on laws based on racial discrimination. He not only lead marches for black voting, labour, and civil rights, but he also helped organize the 1963 March on Washington. Here he delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech, which became a defining moment in the civil rights movement and is one of the most recognizable speeches in Amer...ican History. DYK: Passing the bill making MLK Day was made possible by "the largest petition in favour of an issue in U.S. history" (The Nation, 2006). What can you do today? Speak up for racial injustice. Support the black community. Stand up for justice. Celebrate his legacy. #MLK #MLKDay #Peace #BLM
