The Canadian Engineering Education Board (CEAB) ensures Canadian engineering schools meet national standards for engineering education. Schools must demonstrate grads have a total of 12 attributes - today we're highlighting Knowledge Base, Problem Analysis, and Investigation. As USask Engineering prepares for its accreditation review this fall, we'll raise awareness about all of the attributes. Last month we promoted an event as a conversation about women in engineering and building skills for resilience. When we glued two distinct topics together with the word and some people commented that building skills for resilience was not the best way to promote a conversation with female alumnae. While our students requested skills for resilience and our panelists were all female, combining the two facts in one sentence was not meant to suggest that only women engineer...s need resilience. Thanks for the catch on an awkward moment, and thanks for reaching out! In the spirit of learning, we’ve recreated the promo: "Join us for a conversation about women in engineering and creating your pathway for success. Four USask Engineering alumnae will share their journeys, what they’ve learned along the way, and how they’ve kept going when things got tough." In spite of our misstep, it was a great event with a lot of valuable information for all engineers and students alike. We’re grateful to our alumnae for lending their time and wisdom. The event is available on our YouTube channel and we invite you to share a great conversation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krFEjiEa-wU See more
