SUNFLOWERS: SHARING HOPE Bright and beautiful, with seeds and oils that are healthy and nutritious, the sunflower now has a new meaning. Since scientist discovered that sunflowers can pull radioactive contaminants from the soil, fields of flowers have been planted in toxic nuclear sites , like Fukushima and Chernobyl. The sunflower has become an international symbol for peace and a world free of nuclear weapons. Shine on beautiful flower. You are doing great work!!
