Had a great conversation on the mic with Dr. Kristina and Shawn Slade. Fear, disconnection, reconnection and personal power. Rewire your bio. You have more power than you think.

Join Shawn and I as we discuss the evolutionary story of our mitochondria and how nature connection can help to build resilience on a cellular level. #hormesis #rewilding #natureconnection #mitochondria #longevity https://rewildmybio.com/ep-8-mighty-mighty-mitochondria-w-/

Saunas are sensational and so is sap; so sip on this as you sit and sweat. #saunatherapy #maplewater #maplesap #electrolytes came up with this RECIPE with Shawn Slade Rewild My Bio:... 250 ml freshly tapped maple sap 1/4 tsp sea or Himalayan salt 1/4 or an 1/8 tsp Apple cider vinegar (I prefer 1/8 tsp) Maple sap is full of electrolytes but doesn’t have the salt content to rehydrate much better than plain water. Add a pinch of salt and apple cider vinegar and enjoy pre and post sauna. Maple sap also contains a huge hit of antioxidants, putting it on par with prune and grape juice. I’m in love with this stuff.

As I walked down a steep path and into the hardwood forest to collect the season's last dribbles of sap, a light, spring rain began to fill the air around me. Moss softened my steps, keeping them silent on the earth. Rain drops hit the forest floor covered in the dead leaves of last autumn's glory; the tympanic sound of rain hitting dry leaf, like a hand meeting drum-hide. Rhythmic chaos. That is when I felt her song. Mama Earth is singing! Can you hear it through all of the noise? She beats a universal drum, and is marching toward a new season.

The sun is shining on the LAND. A cardinal sings and the sap flows slowly, as a lone, white tundra swan flies overhead...seeking its flock, heading in the right direction, hoping that it will land again with its family- finding home again; trusting, as it flies lonesome and determined, toward its flock, that it will arrive at something greater than itself. It is a late winter morning and there is an awakening happening. Look around you; see it, hear it, feel it. There is beauty in this moment, as you fly lonesome, toward something inside yourself.

Our good friend and colleague Dr. David Miller - Gut Focused ND had a good post and perspective on virtual naturopathy as an option during these times, so we ju...st cut and pasted what he said below.... "Virtual Visits are Better than No Visits. So, as we all practice some degree of social isolation, there is no better time than right now to strengthen yourself and manage your #comorbidities. And there is no practitioner better positioned for addressing your health strengths and weaknesses than a #Naturopathic Doctor. We understand the #germ and the #terrain (i.e. comorbidities and risk factors etc.) are both important. Just as the telescope and microscope provide different TRUE perspectives of reality, neither of which is wrong, so too do the germ and terrain neither is comprehensive on its own. Rather, they are both partial #truths. So, while the #medical #doctors do their best work and show their dedication and sacrifice by doing the difficult and important work that only they can do, let us #Naturopathic Doctors support your body, troubleshoot your weaknesses, like we do best. To facilitate this AND honour the importance of social distancing, most #NDs are offering #telemedicine or #virtual visits. It’s not as good as seeing you in person, but it IS better than ignoring the fact that we can improve our physiological resilience with the personalized approach that Naturopathic Doctors offer." If any patients would like to make an appointment please email [email protected] and we will schedule an appointment on the PHIPA compliant platform, doxy.me. You will receive a link at the time of booking. See more

Too many Guinness today? This divine elixir will get you feeling strong again. Maple sap can help with HANGOVERS. #electrolytes #tulsi #holybasil #maplesap #ha...ngovergone Click the link below for instructions on how to brew this tea: https://www.villagenaturopaths.com/resurrection-tea-holy-b/ Did you know?: mRNA expression of alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) and aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH), two liver enzymes necessary for alcohol metabolism, was significantly increased in the rats pretreated with maple sap? Works for rats, might work for humans...and if it doesn't, well you'll still get your electrolytes.

It's that Thyme of year! Cold, stagnant conditions might benefit from a sprig or two of Thymus.

Can't shake this cold and cough? Stop by the clinic for a cup of hyssop tea. Hyssop has been used to treat coughs with congested mucus for a really long time, ...some say thousands of years. Don't let you cough linger that long...enjoy a cup of tea and get on with it. photo cred: Dr. Otto Wilhelm Thom, Flora von Deutschland, sterreich und der Schweiz [PD-US], via Wikimedia Commons
