CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER BITES RECIPE Thanks @notdefinedbyboundaries for sharing this recipe made with our puffed brown rice Koala Crisp cereal! Ingredients:... 1 cup Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips (dark or semi-sweet) 1 tsp coconut oil 1 cup brown rice crispy cereal such as EnviroKidz Koala Crisp 1 tsp natural peanut butter Muffin tin Instructions: 1. Melt chocolate and coconut oil in a saucepan over medium heat. 2. Stir in brown rice crispy cereal. 3. Press mixture into each section of a muffin tin. 4. Dollop 1 tsp of natural peanut butter into the center of each bite. 5. Press remaining chocolate mixture into the sections of the muffin tin. 6. MAKE TEN CEREAL ACTIVITY Learning math skills was never so much fun! This easy home-made game makes the perfect rainy day pastime. What You Need:... Leapin’ Lemurs cereal (fruity Cheetah Chomps would work well too!) 2 identically sized pieces of cardboard A ruler and pencil Utility knife and/or scissors Cutting board (if using a utility knife) Glue Bingo chips (or small squares of card stock) and a marker (optional) How to Play: 1Line up 10 pieces of cereal to determine how long and wide they are together. (10 Leapin’ Lemurs, for instance, measure approximately 11 cm in length and 1 cm in width.) 2 Grab your utility knife, cutting board and one of your cardboard pieces to cut out 11 cereal lanes using the measurements from step 1. 3 Glue the cut piece of cardboard down onto the solid piece of cardboard and your activity board is complete! If you’re using the bingo chips or card stock squares, prep those too by writing the numbers 0 through 10 on them, twice (for a total of 22 chips). Once dry, add peanut butter Leapin’ Lemurs to the board. In the first lane, place no Leapin’ Lemurs, in the second lane, place one Leapin’ Lemur, and so on. Then invite your little one to MAKE TEN using the chocolate Leapin’ Lemurs! Explain that the goal is to have 10 pieces of cereal in each lane, being mindful of what’s already there! As your child builds their sets of ten, you may want to narrate, You started with five peanut butter pieces and then you added five chocolate pieces. Five and five make 10! or you may want to let them make those observations on their own. This is a good time to use the little bingo chips if you’d like.
