My strength is Integrated Catchment Management. What does that mean? Environmental scientists really urgently have to be incorporated into new and important positions where we can guide society in the decarbonization of the economy. Being an energy and hydrocarbon specialist, I aspire to communicate the big picture of hydrocarbons in energy and emissions, but also in our food system. Every individual new fossil fuel play that is exploited, is now exceeding what we can safely burn. The 2 Degree Celsius target that we are agreeing on, where after the GHG concentrations in the atmosphere will reduce, that warming target is already exceeded in the Arctic and deserts. So I too declare a Climate Emergency - and the path to a clean future is crystal clear.

Here wind power will be used to generate power to extract oil. But why can associated oil and gas from rigs not be converted to electricity, or piped to ships and treated/piped to market. This is despite UNEP grant funding for flare reduction and multibillion hydrocarbon profits. But yes this is a positive development!

Clean Air Air pollution impacts our health, environment and economy. Air pollutants come from multiple sources. It is therefore paramount that we take action together across sectors and national boundaries. To improve air quality, UNECE member States have been working successfully to reduce air pollution in the region through the Convention on Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution. Eight protocols identify specific measures to be taken by Parties to cut their emissions. Long-range Transboundary Air Pollution The UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) is one of 5 regional commissions of UN. It brings together 56 countries and its major aim is to promote pan-European economic integration. The UNECE region covers more than 47 million km2 and is home of about 17% world population. ALOHA Software - ALOHA is the hazard modeling program for the CAMEO software suite, which is used widely to plan for and respond to chemical emergencies.
