As someone who has multiple things on the go, I can be the first to tell you that time is this fleeting concept that so many people crave more of (and yet, it never seems like there's enough of it) Let me also be one of the first to tell you that planning a wedding or any sort of social event (large or small) takes copious amounts of time, too! .... Think about the last time you planned just a "simple" birthday party for someone, and all the minute details associated with it. All the phone calls, the research, the budgeting, the running around. . Now extrapolate the amount of time you took to plan that party by 100 (more if you have other people involved with various different opinions on your event) . . . I know, I know. "But Kim, you're a wedding planner! How can you not have hired a photographer that you loved?!" . Looking back, most of my decision making had to do with money. We were young, we were paying for everything ourselves, and we were broke. So I let my money scarcity mindset take over my inner want to have a great, experienced, creative photographer.... . And I realized very quickly after the wedding, when the photographer missed taking a photo of my sister and I (my MAID OF HONOUR), that I made a mistake. . I made up for it on our 5-year anniversary, and I will probably make up for it again on our 10-year anniversary, but nothing will replace the photos coming down the aisle, those photos with my sister, and those precious moments. . And you better believe I will tell EVERY ONE of my clients to think long and hard before they make a decision solely based on cost in their wedding. .
