Just a heads up...One-time payment to persons with disabilities. Did you know that the CRA is paying out an extra $600.00 to people who have disabilities? For those that receive any of the following:... * Canada Pension Plan Disability * Quebec Pension Plan Disability Pension, or * One of the following disability supports provided by Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC): * Disability Pension * Disability Award * Pain and Suffering Compensation * Critical Injury Benefit * Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Program * Income Replacement Benefit, and/or * Canadian Forces Income Support If you receive those credits or payments already, you do not have to apply. However, if you have a disability that you’ve not made a claim for, you should contact us. We can help you through the process of obtaining named forms for your doctor to send out to the CRA. Please note that if you received the one-time seniors payment through Old Age Security (OAS) you may also be eligible for the one-time payment to persons with disabilities, just at a reduced amount. Am I eligible for the disability tax credit? There are different ways for which a person can be eligible for the disability tax credit (DTC). The person must meet one of the following criteria: * be blind. * be markedly restricted in at least one of the basic activities of daily living. (Speaking/Hearing/Walking/Eliminating (bowel or bladder functions/Feeding/Dressing/Mental functions necessary for everyday life). * be significantly restricted in two or more or the basic activities of daily living (can include a vision impairment) (Speaking/Hearing/Walking/Eliminating (bowel or bladder functions) /Feeding/Dressing/Mental functions necessary for everyday life). * need life-sustaining therapy. In addition, the person's impairment must meet all of the following criteria: * be prolonged, which means the impairment has lasted or is expected to last for a continuous period of at least 12 months. * be present all or substantially all the time (at least 90% of the time). Should you require any information, please email Nancy Picco. Email Address: [email protected] Phone number: 1-844-803-9578 Thanks ENVOLTA Team
