Thanksgiving charcuterie yesterday in this our last family holiday in our ! . It was a perfect day, the kids knew I needed them not to fight & somehow they pulled through for me lol. . We went out for a walk in the forest & ran into our cousins who we hadn’t seen in MONTHS!!! It was so needed to catch up with them. Then the kids helped prepare dinner, played together, then watched the new Netflix movie from #sirdavidattenborough with me, without complaining.... . Whatever this year has done for our social lives aside, I hope that you can still enjoy some thankful thoughts today whomever you’re with! This year is different for us by a long shot, hubbys at work and usually on thanksgiving Sunday, which is also my mum’s birthday we’d be with our whole extended family, either celebrating at my cousins or at the races like last year...together!! . Yesterday we sat in a park, kinda freezing, with my mum drinking champagne out of a bottle... in a paper bag (she’ll kill me for sharing this, but it was the best part ), just so we could make her feel special this weekend! . We’re all doing what we can, we’re all just trying to stay positive, enjoy the little things, & not go completely mental yelling at our kids (ok maybe that’s just me ), but no matter what, I’m reminded from my post the other day & the work I’m doing with Children’s Aid this year, that I still have so much to be thankful for, I can complain about the stuff or just get through this and come out the other side healthy & sane by focusing on the good, I’m choosing the latter, most days! .
