#Hospitals need more #PPE and #Ventilators to fight #COVID-19.

While the # of new cases of COVID-19 is reducing in China, the pandemic has spread worldwide to at least 153 countries/regions infecting 196,693 people and kill...ing 7,893 as of March 17, 2020. We warned that this was going to spill into a pandemic but the WHO as usual was slow to recognize that and initially thought it was just 'a public health emergency in China'. Today it's clear this was no China-only problem. Italy has been terribly hit. The pandemic is likely to get bad before it gets any better. All countries need to implement draconian public health measures to mitigate intra- & inter-country spread. We continue to recommend the following precautions to the population; 1. Self-isolate if ill and self-monitor for signs/symptoms. 2. Practice social distancing and avoid crowded places. 3. Practice cough etiquette. 4. Perform hand hygiene as often as necessary. 5. Work from home if tolerated. 6. Businesses should encourage teleconferencing rather than face-to-face meetings. 7. Avoid international travels. 8. Enhance cleaning and disinfection of surfaces.
