HAPPY DIETITIAN’S DAY aka St Patty’s Day I am so grateful to be part of a community of such amazing healthcare professionals Dietetic Internship season is upon us, so whether you are prepping for P1 or finishing P3, I HAVE TIPS FOR YOU... You know more than you think you know Trust yourself! The worst case scenario is being wrong & learning from it. Also, I promise the CDRE isn’t as scary as some make it seem. Speak your mind I chose to present information on diet culture and intuitive eating whenever possible. Your preceptors have TONS of knowledge to teach you, but it’s also true that you have a fresh perspective as a new grad. Get them involved in your curiosity about the field! Nothing worth having comes easy It’s hard work. I won’t lie to you. Don’t forget to give yourself some credit for how far you’ve already come. Your degree is an accomplishment in & of itself. With that being said, no designation is worth compromising your mental health. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, take it week by week & don’t look further. If you need a day off, take it. If you need support, reach out to your preceptor, fellow interns or internship coordinator. #icymi Dietitians in Canada must complete an undergrad and then three 14-week practicums to gain competency in foodservice management, medical nutrition therapy & population health. Then, we have to pass an exam & maintain our designation by reporting continued learning to the College.
