Nice work to Air 1 who assisted the RCMP in locating a lost hiker in Elk Island over the weekend. Air1: We responded to Elk Island Park to assist RCMP Alberta ...with locating a lost hiker. We were able to find the hiker about 500 meters in the bush off the trail. Using the PA system and spot light, we guided the hiker back to the trail and ground units intercepted them. #yeg See more

This day honours Phyllis Webstad from the Stswecem’c Xgat’tem First Nation in British Columbia, who had her new orange shirt stripped from her on the first day ...at the Mission School when she was only six years old. The shirt was a gift from her grandmother and was never returned, but it symbolizes the loss of identity suffered by Indigenous students in the Residential School system. Orange Shirt Day is an opportunity not only to share the realities of the Residential Schools, but to recognize the resiliency and strength of Indigenous communities in reconnecting with their culture, fighting injustice, and healing generations of trauma. When you wear an orange shirt on September 30, you are affirming that every child matters and deserves protection from racism. www.orangeshirtday.org
