As #InternationalWomensDay comes to a close we wanted to introduce you to our final interview. Mahima Poddar is the Senior Vice President, Digital Banking and Strategy and has worked here for over 5 years. We asked her, "The financial landscape is traditionally very male dominated, so I’m curious. When you started out in your career, were you able to see people like you in the roles you wanted? If not, what motivated you?" "I previously come from a management consultant back...ground. For me, that has always been a source of inspiration because there were enough senior women who would go on to senior positions in finance - it showed me there was a path to follow. I’ve always been lucky to have strong mentors (both men and women) who have gone out of their way to make connections for me with other women, which has really been beneficial. I truly believe that women in the generations before me really laid the path, and helped to crack if not shatter that glass ceiling. We have a ways to go, but I’m here largely due to the women before me." See more

We asked her, "What advice would you give to women entering the finance world in 2021?" "My best advice to women entering the finance world in 2021 is to seek out support from other women. Get involved in as many women’s groups as you can. Talk to other women about what they are experiencing. You’ll uncover tidbits from other women in the group and you can foster each other’s success! Finally, I cannot overstate the importance of mentorship. Seek out a mentor, or mentor someone yourself. I’ve learned so much from not only my mentors, but from the colleagues I’ve mentored. In the right mentor/mentee relationship, everyone benefits."

On International Women's Day we wanted to highlight some of the amazing women that are breaking barriers in the finance world. First up, Jody Sperling, Senior Vice President, Human Resources. We asked her, "The theme of International Women’s Day 2021 is Choose to Challenge what does that mean to you, and how would you implement this in your own life?" "I love this year’s theme for International Women’s Day. To me, #ChooseToChallenge means we need to strive to do our best, and to find creative solutions to do so. It means including people of all genders, and all lived experiences in these conversations. I am a true believer that the more voices you include, the better the end result. I choose to challenge myself and those around me to include as many voices in our fight for equality."
