Business has its ups, downs and as we’ve recently seen, extreme shake-ups! Over the years we’ve enjoyed working with lots of amazing clients. And occasionally, as is bound to happen in everything, we find ourselves in some not-so-amazing spots. Frankly, that sucks. In reflecting on these situations, it comes to light that there is one common factor at play: Expectations. Whether that relates to method, timing, tone of communication, price, scope of work, (insert personal expe...rience here), it still comes back to - You were expecting one thing, they were expecting another. When expectations diverge or are disappointed, it inevitably causes trouble. Of course, avoiding this 100% isn’t realistic but hey, nothing wrong with having lofty goals and taking steps to achieve them. As we grow, we gain experience. We take these frustrations and learn. We focus our efforts on getting better. So, with that, we have been investing some serious energy into refining our onboarding and quoting process, both for new clients and existing client projects and are excited to share the benefits of setting clearer expectations with everyone. What does that mean? It means we will ensure that everyone involved fully understands and agrees on the project, scope of work, timelines and budget. It means if it’s not the right fit for everyone, we’ll have that honest discussion. We’re only into mutually beneficial working arrangements. It means that we will not be all things to all people. We will offer the awesome services that we love to provide and ensure that we provide them well! It also means that we’re getting into creative, brainstorming mode to make sure that our future website and media really tell the story of who we are and what we do. We love to work with our clients as part of their foundation team, supporting their business through the ups, downs, routines and extremes. We’re looking forward to sharing with you the evolution of EQ.

Update: Tax Filing Season Deadline Extensions / E-signatures Here are the highlights! Basically, we've got more time to file and pay and e-signatures are temporarily allowed to help take the pressure off. Filing deadline: For individuals (other than trusts), the return filing due date will be deferred until June 1, 2020. ... Payments: The Canada Revenue Agency will allow all taxpayers to defer, until after August 31, 2020, the payment of any income tax amounts that become owing on or after today and before September 2020. E-signatures: From Mar 18 - Aug 31, 2020, CRA is accepting electronic signatures on T183 forms (that's the authorization form to file your return). Hoping this ends up being a permanent measure!
